Jack’s global mission of adequate sanitation to end poverty for the world’s poor has enabled him to fulfill “living the useful life”, a motto he coined when he founded World Toilet Organisation (WTO) in 2001. Twenty years on, Jack received royal endorsement from Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II in the form of a personalised certificate signed by Her Majesty. The Commonwealth Points of Light award was presented to him by the British High Commission in 2018. The award recognises outstanding individuals for innovative solutions to mitigate social challenges. Little did he think that he would play the lead character in a movie premiere —  Mr. Toilet: The World’s #2 Man — documenting his crusade to provide affordable latrines to needy communities. WTO brings together clean toilet advocates from over 235 organisations across 58 countries to jointly tackle sanitation issues.
