Open the gate to let loose the Charger Award, the most exciting thing that will happen in 2017. The Charger Award highlights 30 companies in the SGX who are going to charge ahead in 2017.

Applying the customised algorithm of FinTech start-up spiking.com, the Charger Award identifies 30 SGX companies that are viewed favourably by the big investors. These are the billionaires, millionaires and blue whale investors who astutely place their money on likely winners. Benefit from the valued opinions of these business leaders.

The Charger Award wants to back these winning Bull Chargers by getting their stories told to a wider audience. Of these, we will also highlight three exceptional companies as :

THE SUPER CHARGER

The company that has expanded positively into new areas of business activity.

THE HARD CHARGER

The company that makes good use of its existing resources to build a stronger business.

THE TURBO CHARGER

The company that will pull out all the stops and find innovative and creative ways to power ahead.

All 30 finalists are Bull Chargers for defying current economic sentiment.

The Charger Award takes place on June 22, 2017 at the new Function Hall of the School Of Law, SMU (55 Armenian Street, 179943).

The Charger Award is developed by STORM.SG in partnership with Spiking and with the venue support of the Singapore Management University.

Methodology

BLUE WHALE INDEX

The Blue whale Index is comprised of up to 25 small to large- cap Singapore companies in which a select pool of sophisticated investors “Blue Whales” has allocated the most assets. Blue whales are a group of Singapore investment millionaires and billionaires based on net worth, portfolio size and recent transactions.

INVESTMENT STRATEGY

Up to 60 Blue whales are selected from a pool of 2000 based on personal net worth, portfolio size, recent transactions and performance over time. Stocks must be listed on the SGX with a minimum of $10 million in market capitalization. Stocks are selected based on highest allocations by 60 out of 2000 Blue Whales.

BLUE WHALE INDEX WEIGHT ALLOCATION

Each of the 25 companies in the index is allocated a fixed equal weight of 4% which is rebalanced quarterly.

FINALISTS

The finalists are chosen based on the Spiking Blue Whale Index ETF, where the investment of the top, elite 60 investors in the stock market are tracked in a specific quarter.
